Gianpaolo Gangemi is an Italian qualified lawyer at Preiskel & Co who specialises in European competition law, commercial contracts and data privacy.
Gianpaolo advises on all competition law issues, including antitrust complaints and proceedings, merger control, public procurement and State aid across several sectors. He also advises on commercial contracts, including intellectual property licensing as well as on legal compliance with consumer protection laws, data protection and other regulatory matters across multiple jurisdictions.
He has a wide experience in dispute resolution, having assisted clients in competition proceedings before the European Commission and national competition authorities as well as in competition and commercial disputes before European (Court of Justice and General Court) and national courts in the UK, Italy and Belgium.
Gianpaolo has a truly international background. After completing his postgraduate studies in Italy, he obtained an LL.M in European competition law at the Institut d’etudes européennes of Brussels and a second LL.M at Kings College London, specialising in Information technology, E-commerce, Media, and IP Commercialisation as well as in comparative studies on antitrust enforcement, trademark law and unfair competition. He also attended courses on US business law at the University of Southern California of Los Angeles.
Before joining Preiskel & Co., Gianpaolo worked in Brussels for two prestigious Italian law firms, in the fields of EU, competition and cross-border commercial law. He has published a number of articles in both Italian and international journals.
Gianpaolo speaks four languages (English, French, Spanish and Italian) and is a member of the Italian Bar Association.
