Stephan is a specialised telecoms, media and technology lawyer who is qualified in England and Germany. He routinely advises on corporate, commercial, e-commerce, intellectual property, e-money, big data, data protection (GDPR), confidentiality, telecoms and regulatory matters.
He regularly drafts and negotiates commercial agreements such as distribution, agency, partnership and consultancy agreements as well as mobile content agreements (including mobile payment solution agreements).
Many of these commercial agreements include technology and telecoms elements such as MVNO, MVNE, service provider, reseller, end user and financial and data clearing (roaming) agreements. He drafts and negotiates software licences, website, software/app development and SaaS agreements. Stephan also provides regulatory advice to telecoms companies (for example on authorisation, licensing, premium-rate services, artificially inflated traffic, privacy, encryption, interception and data retention).
Some of his work includes the drafting/negotiation of more general commercial agreements such as retail, agency, distribution and franchise agreements (for restaurants, fast-food outlets and bakeries) as well as (offline) supply agreements for goods and services.
His recent corporate work includes drafting articles of association, shareholders’ agreements, share purchase agreements and share option schemes. He regularly advises owner-managed businesses on corporate issues (how to protect and grow their business), typically M&A, equity, debt finance, Joint Ventures, but also on employment law questions (contentious, non-contentious and advisory matters in relation to employees).
