Competition inquiry in the e-commerce sector announced by the European Commission

March 30, 2015By Preiskel & Co

The European Commission announced a proposal to launch a competition inquiry in the e-commerce sector. The inquiry will focus on identifying and tackling barriers to cross-border e-commerce in order to achieve a connected Digital Single Market. This announcement was made one day after the College of Commissioners had the first discussion on the Digital Single Market Strategy, which is expected to be publicly released in May 2015. For more information, see the European Commission Press Release IP/15/4701.
