The Body of European Regulators for Electronic Communications (BEREC) is seeking views from stakeholders on its draft guidelines concerning the implementation by national regulators of the new European rules on net neutrality. The public consultation will close on 18 July 2016 at 1:00 PM (UK time).
The draft guidelines (available here) implement the EU Regulation on net neutrality adopted on 25 November 2015 and entered into force on 30 April 2016. In order to contribute to its consistent application, the Regulation contains a requirement for BEREC to issue guidelines for the implementation of the obligations of national regulatory authorities (NRAs).
The draft guidelines have been approved at the BEREC Board of Regulators meeting in Vienna, Austria on 3 June 2016 and published for public consultation on Monday 6 June. The public consultation will increase transparency and provide BEREC with valuable feedback from stakeholders. BEREC will publish a summary of all contributions received, subject to confidentiality requests.
