Antony is a commercial, corporate and regulatory lawyer with over 30 years’ experience in the TMT sectors and over 10 years’ experience in the exploration/mining sector. Having lived and practiced in Australia, Hong Kong SAR and the United Kingdom, Antony has gained extensive experience representing a variety of private ventures and public bodies in many established and developing markets.

Over the last 15 years, Antony has focused his energies on start-up ventures and has either founded or co-founded several enterprises including: a TV channel focused on defence, security and geo-political content; a gold explorer/miner successfully listed on the Australian Securities Exchange; and a new digital economy venture exploiting a global number range. In these ventures Antony served board and/or executive roles, accumulating substantial corporate managerial and governance experience in addition to providing in-house legal and regulatory services.

In the TMT sectors Antony has been intimately involved in various: cable, MMDS and satellite television projects; data centre projects; 2G, 2.5G, 3G and 4G mobile projects; a national broadband project; new digital economy projects; undersea cable/fibre projects; and wireless technology projects.  Public sector entities Antony has advised or represented include: the Australian Department of Broadband Communications and Digital Economy; Office of the Telecommunications Authority in Hong Kong; Infocom Development Authority and the Media Development Authority in Singapore; the Algerian Ministry of Communications and Information Technology; the Republic of Srpska Ministry of Communications; and the Samoan Ministry of Communications and Information Technology.

In the exploration/mining sector, Antony has primarily worked with ventures focused on exploring, mining and/or processing precious metals within Australia and Indonesia. This work has included: equity and debt funding/listing of mining projects; acquisitions and sales of mining projects, mining/exploration licences and/or mining equipment; joint ventures, management agreements, farmin agreements and access arrangements with leaseholders and native groups; commodity contracts; and navigation of relevant regulatory frameworks.

Antony obtained his legal qualifications through the University of Sydney and his Master of Laws from the University of New South Wales. He is admitted to practice law in New South Wales, Australia and in the Hong Kong SAR.
