Ilanit Appelfeld is an intellectual property rights specialist, providing strategic counselling on patents, trademarks and designs.
Ilanit Appelfeld began her career in IP in 2002 and her work includes acting as IP manager for post seed startups, in the intersection between IP and business.
She is part of the Preiskel team on IP matters in the UK and in Israel, and advises companies on generating value from their intellectual property and articulating their competitive advantage She has researched the challenges faced by post seed companies and developed practical solutions to assist companies in identifying and leveraging their IP to improve their valuation and better elaborate their competitive advantage.
She manages large trademark and patent portfolios and carries out drafting, filing and prosecution of patents across all fields. Ilanit has been involved in the execution of numerous successful deals relating to patent sales and licensing.
In addition, Ilanit provides advice on IP protection strategy, IP due diligence opinions, and opinions relating to invalidity, infringement and freedom to operate.
Ilanit obtained her LL.M in Intellectual Property from King’s College, London University in 1996, where she specialised in international and comparative patent, trademark and copyright law.
Ilanit is an active participant and a committee member of INTA, the International Trademark Association.
