The UK Government has issued a consultation on its plans to implement the European Electronic Communications Code (the “EECC”).
The EECC is an EU Directive reforming the EU regulatory framework for telecommunications with the aim of encouraging more investment in telecommunications infrastructure.
Despite the ongoing Brexit process, under current timeframes the UK will still be required to transpose the Directive into UK law before the December 2019 implementation deadline.
The Government consultation can be found here. The deadline for responses is 10 September 2019.
Please contact us if you have any questions relating to the Government’s consultation, or the EECC in general.
